Assistant Director of Nursing (Community) Housing First Multidisciplinary Health Team

Location: Dublin City Centre
Salary: €73,245 per annum
Contract: Fixed Term (subject to funding)
Hours: 35 hours per week (core 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday. Flexibility required between 8am–8pm)
Annual Leave: 25 days plus public holidays

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead a newly established Housing First Multidisciplinary Health Team in Dublin City Centre.

This senior leadership role provides strategic and clinical oversight of a community-based MDT delivering trauma-informed, person-centred healthcare supports to individuals with complex needs transitioning from homelessness into stable housing.

The ADON will ensure strong clinical governance, effective service delivery and alignment with the Housing First model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and strategic leadership to nursing and MDT staff
  • Oversee clinical decision-making, care planning and referrals
  • Lead governance, safeguarding and risk management processes
  • Develop and review operational procedures and service standards
  • Support recruitment, supervision and professional development
  • Foster effective partnerships across health, housing and social care sectors
  • Contribute to service evaluation and continuous improvement

Essential Requirements

  • Registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives (NMBI)
  • Minimum 7 years post-registration experience, including:
    – At least 3 years working with diverse populations
    – At least 3 years in a nurse management role
  • Level 8 (NFQ) qualification in Nursing or related field
  • Post-registration management qualification in a health-related discipline
  • Strong clinical leadership, governance and management capability
  • Legal right to work in Ireland
  • Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
  • International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in social inclusion, addiction, homelessness or community healthcare services
