As an Activity Coordinator, you will be the catalyst for creating a vibrant and enriching environment for residents. You’ll be the bridge between their interests and meaningful daily activities, collaborating closely with nursing staff to ensure a fulfilling experience throughout their treatment journey.
This is a full-time permanent job, offering a 5-day work week between 8 am – 8 pm. The ideal candidate will have the willingness to embrace bank holidays and weekends, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to the job. The salary range is competitive, ranging from €15.50 to €17.50 based on your valuable experience.
Your Engaging Responsibilities Will Include:
- Establishing genuine connections with residents, ensuring they feel welcome and encouraged to participate in tailored activities.
- Collaborating with residents and their families to understand their interests and skills, crafting personalized activity programs.
- Orchestrating therapeutic and recreational activities, fostering a stimulating environment.
- Leading outings and engaging residents in both group and individual activities, promoting social interaction and personal growth.
- Monitoring residents’ responses and behaviors, documenting vital information for individual care plans and effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Hold a QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Have a minimum of 6 months experience as an Activities Coordinator, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Healthcare Assistant.
- Previous exposure to a psychiatric environment is a significant advantage, showcasing your ability to adapt and thrive in this setting.
