CALI (Care and Learn Ireland) is an exciting new initiative launching in early 2024 which combines both a Day Service and formal learning for young adults with severe to profound intellectual/physical disability. Till now this cohort of school leavers transitioned to a traditional Day Service model with no continuing/ further education learning pathway.
This new style of ‘Care and Learn’ initiative is being run with support from the Kildare & Wicklow Education and Training Board. It will create a unique environment designed to help these school leavers continue their learning and reach their full potential. The programme will include the support of a full multidisciplinary therapy (MDT) team.
The aim is to develop a new model of Care and Learning for severe to profound young adults that will become a template for national roll out.
